Quillroll is a text adventure that writes itself as you play. Pick a world, name your character and type what you do. An AI narrator describes what happens next and offers three choices, or you can try anything you like.

Worlds:

- The Lantern Road: low-magic fantasy. The lanterns that keep the night creatures off the trade road are going out.

- Drift Station Calder: science fiction. A cargo ship docks at a mining station with no crew and its hold sealed from inside.

- Fog Over Wrenmouth: a 1920s mystery. The lighthouse keeper vanished the night before a storm.

- The House on Gallows Lane: eerie, not gory. Tonight the door is open.

- Or describe your own setting and the narrator builds from there.

The narrator tracks your health, what you're carrying and everything you've done, so long adventures stay consistent. Adventures are saved, and you can continue them on any device after signing in with Google.

The site also has free generators for game masters: random characters, D&D NPCs, personalities, story ideas, fantasy shops and quest hooks. Any result can be turned into an adventure.

About AI: the story text is generated by a language model as you play. Content is kept PG-13.
